Tragedies in former lifeguard Brendon Prince’s past forced a huge change in his life to pursue water safety education. But in the pursuit of raising awareness for this cause he must put his own life at risk, pushing his limits and attempting something that no one has ever accomplished before.

Is he attempting the impossible? Will the cause of water safety ultimately put him in life-threatening situations?

The documentary CIRCUMNAVIGATE follows the south Devon based father of three as he attempts to become the first person to ever stand up paddleboard around mainland Britain in his hope to break five world records. A challenge many have tried before – but none have achieved.

Directed by Will Reddaway | Featuring Brendon Prince

CIRCUMNAVIGATE: The story of The Long Paddle was filmed, edited and directed by Will Reddaway. Shot on a mix of ZCam and Canon cameras as well as DJI drones and action cameras.  Will wanted to tell the story of Brendon’s adventure in a immersive way so filmed it solo immersing himself in the adventure and the team supporting Brendon.

Filming from in the water, on land and in the air gave a variety of perspectives as he wanted to engage the viewer in Brendon’s challenge.  “SUPing, even at Brendon’s level isn’t the most exciting and engaging activity to watch so a variety of filming methods really help add to the action” says Will.  The story needed to be more than just about Brendon’s attempt to set world records and do something no one has done before. He had such a back story and huge motivation to this challenge that Will wanted to portray that and make that the focus of this film instead of just watching a man stand up paddleboarding.
